Day 1 & 2- INLAND LAKES OF COUNTY SLIGO

The expedition starts of with an introduction and safety instructions of Mister Kayak. Soon the kayaks are let to water. The first paddling days showcase some of Sligo’s best scenery. While paddling on crystal clear fresh water the team gets to explore some of the hidden gems of the county. They can choose from a number of lakes with highlights such as Temple House, The Lake Isle of Inishfree, Glencar waterfall and Slishwood. The first night the team sleeps in tents.

Day 3 & 4 – BALLISODARE BAY & THE SEAL COLONY

A pleasant but tough paddle around Ballisodare Bay. The team will use the tide to meander their way to the resident seal colony where they can view these creatures in their natural habitat. Paddle along the southern slopes of majestic Knocknarea mountain and see the grave of legendary Queen Maeve of Connaught from the water. A beautiful paddle for people of all experienced levels. The second night the team sleeps in a self-made tent from natural material and the night after in a bed & breakfast.

Day 5 – MULLAGHMORE HEAD & CLASSIEBAWN CASTLE

The team leaves quaint Mullaghmore harbour and hugs the headland to make their way up to the world famous surf spot of Mullaghmore Head. We continue to Kilkillogue bay and explore the dramatic coastline fronting Classiebawn Castle. Amazing views of the castle and Benbulben are highlights as well as encounters with local wildlife such as dolphins, basking sharks and sea birds. A tough last paddle but with a stunning ending.
